| The La Sella Guide
If you are looking for a holiday home or thinking of relocating to the area I wanted to give you a breakdown of some of the highlights of La Sella Residential and why we believe it is a fantastic option for those looking to make the most of life in the Northern Costa Blanca. If you have any more specific queries about La Sella please click here to email us at Spain4u directly.
The La Sella residential area is nestled in the Pedreguer mountains, between Denia and Javea. With great access to these two beautiful coastal towns, as well as being only a five-minute drive from the Portal de la Marina shopping centre, Denia Hospital and the A7 motorway slip road (practically midway between Alicante and Valencia airports), La Sella is perfectly positioned for your holiday home or long-term residence. By train, La Sella is easily accessed from the La Xara train stop (though this line is currently undergoing maintenance).
In terms of facilities, everything you would need is right on your doorstep with a pharmacy, shop and the highly recommended Nuevo Giramondo Pizzeria Restaurante. The La Sella Mini Market serves freshly baked bread and croissants as well as all of the usual essentials. There are also a variety of walks and hikes stemming from La Sella itself, many offering breath-taking views of the Montgo, countryside and sea. A high level of security is maintained in La Sella by the on-site 24/7 security team.
GOLF & THE DENIA MARRIOTT LA SELLA GOLF RESORT
La Sella centres itself around its namesake golf course, La Sella Golf, a 27-hole course opened in 1992 and designed by Spanish golfing pro, José María Olazábal. Open all year round this stunning course boasts views of both the Mediterranean and the famous Montgo mountain. As well as the renowned club house and restaurant, La Sella Golf also offers a driving range, Pro Shop, junior lessons/clubs and a repair service. The prestigious adjoined Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort offers a variety of dining from Mediterranean to Thai cuisines, as well as an extensive outdoor pool and relaxing spa with a hydrotherapy pool and gym.
The Albarda Garden (Jardín de l’Albarda), located within La Sella, is a picture of serenity. These large (50,000 square metres) gardens are heavily influenced by Arabic/Valencian-renaissance style and design with pergolas and fountains set alongside a neo-classical villa. Run by the Fundación Enrique Montoliu (FUNDEM), who designed the garden, the Albarda Garden is a fine example of sustainability and the preservation of biodiversity, especially Mediterranean flora and fauna.
Paramita, the International Centre for Buddhist Studies, is the largest of its kind in Spain and was originally opened in 2004 by His Holiness Sakya Trizin, deputy to the Dalai Lama. Set up by the Sakya Foundation, Paramita houses an 1,000 square metre meditation hall, accommodation and a library. The community here offers classes and gatherings from beginner’s meditation to mindfulness retreat. These are available to locals and visitors alike.
THE SPORT & HEALTH ACADEMY ELITE SPORT POINT
The Sport and Health Academy Elite Sport Point, a new dedicated sports facility and accommodation, is set for completion in the near future and will offer a boutique experience for those interested in sports tourism (of which there is plenty in the Marina Alta region). With a high-spec gym offering a variety of exercise classes (also open to the public), a large spa, a semi-Olympic sized swimming pool as well as a SYNCROLAB clinic, the on-site 4* hotel is sure to further boost the social landscape of La Sella.
La Sella Tennis & Padel is perfectly positioned in the centre of La Sella residential and has 5 European clay and three artificial grass courts with panoramic views across to the sea. The team at La Sella Tennis offer personal and groups lessons to all capabilities from beginners as well as the more elite. Your children or grandchildren can also enjoy the club with children’s lessons and holiday clubs.
La Sella Stables and Livery offer riding lessons, riding holidays, hacks and livery within some of the most beautiful scenery found in the Northern Costa Blanca including around the Montgo National Park.
The landscape of La Sella is always evolving. With the new Elite hotel, improved rail links and construction of exclusive new build properties such as these, buying your new home in La Sella will prove to be a decision you won’t regret.
